When no template fits, start with a blank canvas.
- Open the video editor. You can also get there from Start from scratch on the templates page.
- In Select Size, choose 1080p Wide (16:9), 1080p Square (1:1) or 1080p Vertical (9:16).
- Add content with the toolbar on the left: Text, Image, Video, Animation, Filter, Icon and Shape.
A new project starts empty, at 0 seconds, with a music track already chosen at random video only. As you add objects, the video grows to fit them, and the backdrop fills with black. Change the backdrop color or add clips to it with Backdrop, and change the music with Music.
Changed your mind about the size? Tools › Resize opens a resized copy of your project. See The Tools menu.
Starting an image from scratch works the same way. The image editor opens with the same Select Size choices,
and its toolbar has Text, Image, Video, Animation, Filter, Icon and Shape — no Backdrop button and no Music. The canvas starts transparent rather
than black, and everything you add sits on one canvas: there's no timeline, and nothing enters or exits.
