The Wavy Design Generator

Generate layered wave backgrounds in the free Wavy Background Generator, animated or still, at any size you need.

The Wavy Design Generator builds layered wave backgrounds.

  1. Press New for a new random design.
  2. Set Colors: one color gives a gradient around it; two colors give a gradient from bottom to top. The swap button switches them.
  3. Adjust Smoothness, and under Waves set the number of layers (2 to 20), points per wave and the root shape.
  4. Under Motion, set the Period and Easing, or switch Animate off. Under Size, set the width and height or pick a common size.
  5. Press Export to download a GIF, PNG or SVG.

Using a design in a video or image

Use In Video and Use In Image open a new project in a new tab with your design on the canvas, in the shape you built it: a 16:9 design opens a wide project. In the video editor, the design is an animation with an Edit Settings button that reopens these controls.
